Did you know Hillel gives out free bagels on campus every week? Come enjoy our first bagel break of the year!

Crafts on Campus/ Shabbat Walking Group - Friday August 21st, 4-5:30pm

Relax after a busy week of moving with some crafts, and walk to Hillel's shabbat dinner after with some friends. 

Freshmen Shabbat - Friday August 21st, 6pm

Shabbat shalom! This first one is just for you guys, enjoy a cozy shabbat dinner on campus with your fellow Freshmen.

Teva/Venture Out Hike - Saturday August 22nd, 11am

Join our Teva Club on a hike of the Cascades Waterfall Trail, done in partnership with Virginia Tech's Venture Out. Get a taste of the Blue Ridge Moutnain's unique beauty on one of the New River Valley's most scenic hikes.

Welcome Back BBQ - Sunday August 23rd, 12-3pm

The school year is officially beginning! Come welcome all our friends back to campus and meet everyone who calls Hillel home!

Bracelet Making on Campus - Monday August 24th, 5-7pm

After a long first day of classes de-stress with an on-campus bracelet making craft. 

Meet the Sisterhood - Tuesday August 29th, 6-8pm

Girls night at Hillel! Come meet the sisters, activity TBA.

Pickup Basketball and Yard Games at Hillel - Tuesday August 29th, 4-6pm

Come enjoy our newly renovated outdoor space and meet some more Jewish Hokies. 

Bowling at Squires - Wednesday August 25th, 6-9pm

Did you know Virginia Tech has its own bowling alley? Bowl and meet some Jewish Hokies at Squires Student Center!

Freshmen Challah Bake - Thursday August 27th, 6:30pm

Help our Challah intern Layla prepare the challah for Welcome Back Shabbat and get a taste of the work that goes into making Hillel possible.

Welcome Back Shabbat - Friday August 28th, 6:30pm

Join Hillel as we welcome back all our returning students. Make new friends, and reunite with the ones you made last shabbat!

Tubing on the New River - Saturday August 29th, 11am

Come tube in the New River Valley's namesake and get a unique view of the beautiful nature surrounding Blacksburg!

Your $36 dollar payment (free if you are in family circle!) covers all of these activities, plus a t-shirt!

FreshFest is an exclusive first-week experience for freshmen at Virginia Tech. At FreshFest, you have the opportunity to make friends, hang out with current students and learn more about Hillel! We are thrilled that you will be here in August and cannot wait to meet you!
