Today started with a kick! We entered the new year as a community by spending our night out on the town, and as the new day started we all had to rush back to the bus. Once we all actually woke up and started our day we got a lesson in chutzpah, as we toured through the graffiti streets in the rain. The streets were filled with buildings that were to be demolished and so legally graffiti was allowed, and even in the rain people were still out spraying the walls. To them the walls are a way to express true feelings and speak politically without consequence which is an interesting idea. New Year's Day was quite the opener to a hopefully wonderful year!!
