VA Beach Alumni!

Are you currently living in VA Beach and hoping to get more connected with other Alumns in the area! Then see our upcoming events in the area! If you want to attend any of these events or have any questions please RSVP or email vabeach@hillelvt.org.

Upcoming Events:

📅 April 22 – Celebrate Israel Through Cuisine
Join us for a special evening hosted by the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater:
Celebrate Israel Through Cuisine with chefs Ben & Zikki Siman-Tov, authors of Eat Small Plates: Vibrant, Shareable Dishes for Daily Joy.

This annual Israeli Chef’s Table Experience is a signature Yom Ha’Atzmaut celebration that brings Israel to life through food, storytelling, and connection. Guests will enjoy a kosher three-course menu inspired by authentic Israeli flavors, while the chefs share stories that connect food, culture, and heritage.

  • Individual Dinner Ticket: $180

  • Dinner + Signed Cookbook: $210

Virginia Tech Hillel will contribute $36 toward your ticket, and I’d love to organize a group table if there’s enough interest—please let me know if you’d like to join us!

📅 April 26 – Yom Ha’Atzmaut Celebration
Come meet me, along with the Executive Director of Virginia Tech Hillel and their fellow, at this year’s Yom Ha’Atzmaut celebration at the Simon Family JCC. This will be a great chance to connect in a fun, community-wide setting.

🌟 May – Jewish American Heritage Month
I’d love to gather a group of alumni for a couple of meaningful and social experiences:

🖼 Chrysler Museum Tour + Lunch (May 12 or May 17)
We can meet for lunch before or after and then attend a special guided tour:
In celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month, explore Judaic themes in the Chrysler Museum’s collection, featuring works by Jewish artists and pieces with Jewish significance. These free tours are offered in partnership with the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater.

🏛 Myers House Tour – May 31
Join us for a fascinating program led by Rabbi Michael Panitz, who will explore the life of Moses Myers—his role in the American Revolution, his views on citizenship, and his place in early American Jewish history.
We will happily cover the cost of this experience for those interested.

If you are interested in attending one of these events please RSVP at vabeach@hillelvt.org
